Matt Schmittdiel is an actor, filmmaker, and multimedia journalist who strives to tell visually compelling and critically engaging stories. As a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, Schmittdiel has professional experience working across a variety of platforms.

Last Spring Schmittdiel premiered his documentary short film, "Break A Leg" at the Stronger Than Fiction film festival and also spent 5 months working in New York City for 4th Row Films as a production and development assistant. He worked and assisted on "Bernstein's Wall" which premiered at Tribeca Festival 2021.

Most of his time as an undergraduate was spent at the NBC affiliate of mid-Missouri KOMU Channel 8 News working as a producer, reporter, and anchor. He has also worked as a contributing writer for Vox Magazine in Columbia and as an associate producer for Global Journalist. 

Schmittdiel is currently living and working in New York City as a production assistant on film and TV sets. 

He has worked/working on productions such as:

Severance (Apple TV+) 

Ramy  (Hulu)
Etc.

Schmittdiel hopes he can tell stories all over the world one day with a camera in one hand and a pen, or laptop, in the other.
